A person centred approach means working in a system in which people and staff feel in control, valued, motivated and supported. It means affording people dignity, respect, compassion, without judgement. It involves developing a rapport and relationship, achieving a shared understanding, purpose and partnership.
This session focused on how unacceptable behaviours within health and social care can have a negative impact upon organisational outcomes, staff well being and patient safety and how a person centred approach can combat this.
